FAQs

What makes Wagyu beef different from other types of beef?

Wagyu beef is known for its exceptional marbling, tenderness, and rich, buttery flavor. The unique genetics of Wagyu cattle, combined with careful breeding and feeding practices, result in beef that is significantly more tender and flavorful than conventional breeds. At Oneida Wagyu Cattle Company, we raise full-blood and crossbred Wagyu with meticulous care to ensure premium quality in every cut.

We offer both full-blood and crossbred Wagyu beef. Full-blood Wagyu are 100% genetically pure and trace their lineage directly to Japanese Wagyu cattle. Crossbred Wagyu (often 50% or more) are a blend of Wagyu and other high-quality breeds like Angus, offering a balance of Wagyu marbling with the robust flavor of traditional American beef. Both options deliver an exceptional eating experience.

Wagyu beef is best cooked simply to let its natural flavor and tenderness shine. For steaks, we recommend a quick sear on high heat—medium-rare is ideal. Because of its high fat content, Wagyu cooks faster than conventional beef, so monitor it closely. Avoid over-seasoning; just a touch of salt and pepper is enough. For ground Wagyu, low and slow yields the best results to maintain moisture and flavor.
